Value Magnifiers

On the wall are drawn in pencil different faces, animals and scenes with which different nations have chosen to be represented. In front of these drawings are glass vessels filled with water. The effect is of a glass that amplifies the original drawing. The viewer, however, when moving, sees how the drawings can be reflected in the adjacent glasses, creating a multiplying optical effect. The work uses symbolic elements used in the banknotes of each nation placed side by side. In this way a narrative is created where political leaders, scientists, animals, buildings and landscapes personify different values for the viewer. Thus dictators, monarchs or mines of extraction have, depending on who sees this sequence of drawings, a different meaning. Thus the images are intertwined, but their narrative is different for the viewer.
