Landmark

Landmark is an ongoing series of site-specific interventions using red-and-white barrier tape, a material commonly employed to mark temporary conditions in architecture and construction. Each intervention responds to an existing building or landscape by extending the tape across architectural elements, creating a temporary spatial drawing that disappears once the material is removed.

Originally intended to signal danger, repair or transformation, the barrier tape becomes the primary material of the work. Produced from inexpensive industrial plastic and designed for short-term use, it introduces into architecture a material that usually remains confined to construction sites and moments of transition.

Each installation is developed in response to the specific history and physical condition of its location. Rather than altering the architecture itself, the intervention temporarily redirects attention towards the buildings, infrastructures and public spaces at the precise moment they are being repaired, transformed or redefined.
