Between Heaven and Earth (book)

Developed in collaboration with Claudia de la Torre and Backbone Books, this artist’s book extends the installation Between Heaven and Earth into a new format.

Published in a limited edition of 100 copies, the work takes the form of a DIN A4 book containing life-size reproductions of the collected feathers. While functioning as a publication, the book can also be unfolded and installed as a wall piece of approximately five square metres, allowing the work to oscillate between reading object, archive and spatial installation.

Each copy is unique, reflecting the singularity of the feathers from which the project originated. As in the installation, the publication explores the relationship between collection, memory and representation. The pages become a repository of traces gathered from the urban environment, transforming ephemeral fragments into a portable archive that can be activated both through reading and exhibition.
