Horizonte
Artist Book
Horizon is an artist’s book developed through an extended process of research, collaboration, and dialogue. The project originated during my artistic research residency at PACA (Gijón) in October 2024, supported by the Dutch Embassy in Spain, and focuses on the notion of the post-industrial landscape.
The research examines how post-industrial conditions are formed, perceived, and transformed in Gijón, situating the idea of the horizon not only as a projection toward the future, but as a layered construct shaped by historical, social, political, and economic forces. The horizon is understood here as a site where past and present intersect, revealing embedded power relations and collective memory.
The book brings together selected research materials, historical documentation, and a script that functions as a conceptual framework for a potential future audiovisual installation. Conceived as an autonomous body of work, Horizon explores the artist’s book as a medium with its own temporality—intimate, tactile, and enduring—offering a sustained space for reflection beyond the exhibition format.
