Horizonte
Artist Book
Horizonte is an artist's book developed through research, fieldwork and conversations in Gijón, Spain. Produced during an artistic research residency at PACA in 2024, the publication brings together photographs, historical documents, notes and a script for a future film.
The project centres on the horizon of the Asturian coast, where the sea, the former industrial port and the city converge. Seen from this landscape, the horizon is shaped as much by shipyards, factories and infrastructures as by the sea itself.
The publication assembles materials collected during the research without separating documents from observation or writing from image. Historical records, photographs and the film script remain in dialogue throughout the book, allowing different moments of the territory to coexist within a single sequence of pages.
Rather than documenting the residency, Horizonte develops the artist's book as a space where landscape, memory and research unfold through reading.
