Narcissus

The video installation proposed for minus20degree is an homage to those men and women that have died trying to cross European borders escaping military regimes, famines, poverty or simply looking for a better life. The video projected on a flat surface of a building will show the names of people who have died trying to reach Europe that slowly appear as if snow is getting fix on a black surfaced (the names will be extracted from an existing and constantly actualised list by www.unitedagainstrefugeedeaths.eu and completed with further personal research on diverse sources ). The names will appear upside down, to only be properly read on the reflection of a large pond of frozen water that surrounds the wall or building.
