Narcissus

Projected onto the façade of one of the sites proposed for the open call, the installation consists of a continuously growing list of names drawn from existing documentation of migrant deaths at Europe's external borders. Slowly emerging across the dark surface, the names accumulate like falling snow, transforming the building into a temporary memorial.

The text is projected upside down and remains unreadable from a direct viewpoint. A frozen water surface placed in front of the concrete wall becomes the only place from which the names can be read. The ice turns the act of reading into an act of reflection, creating a fragile threshold between visibility and disappearance.

Each name refers to a documented person who died attempting to reach Europe. Removed from statistical records and returned to public space, the names recover their individual presence without adding images or further narration.

Visible only through reflection, the memorial exists in a constant state of fragility, dependent on light, temperature and the viewer's position.
