Topography (II)

Topography (II) consists of hundreds of small glass schnapps bottles suspended from the ceiling in a precise grid. Collected over several years in the neighbourhood where the artist lives, the bottles are traces of everyday urban life gathered from streets, parks and public spaces.

Suspended at different heights, the bottles form a surface that bends and sinks like a topographical landscape. Light passing through the glass projects a second shifting landscape onto the floor, extending the work beyond the suspended structure itself.

Discarded after consumption and often left unnoticed in the city, the bottles are removed from their original context and reorganised into a new spatial order. Through repetition and accumulation, everyday objects become a suspended field that oscillates between drawing, architecture and terrain.

Part of the ongoing Topography series, the installation transforms overlooked traces of urban life into a landscape suspended between the city and its shadow.
