Quarantine Diaries
Either/Or: Those Remote Days
For the exhibition Either / Or – Those Remote Days at the Suning Art Museum in Shanghai, Quarantine Diaries was presented through a selection of photographs depicting the bars of soap preserved by the artist's mother, the images that originally gave rise to the project in March 2020.
Displayed alongside the installation, a publication brought together the complete archive of more than 3,000 photographs submitted by participants from cities around the world. Each entry preserved the contributor's name, location and date, documenting the collective development of the project during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This presentation responded to the curatorial framework of the exhibition, which required each project to be exhibited under a single author's name while maintaining access to the collective archive through the accompanying publication.
